A busy day at the office ... somewhat reminiscent of Mount Gambier in the 1980s (but with a disproportionate ratio of V/Line and VR vs. SAR and Australian National rolling stock).
 
Come and join us, bring along your trains ... broad gauge (SA/Vic), Australian prototype or anything else you run (US, British, European, etc).  Our layout is HO scale 16.5mm gauge DCC ... but modellers of railways, whatever the scale/gauge, are always welcome!

The Mount Barker Model Railway Club would like to extend a special 'thank-you' to the following organisations for supporting our humble endeavours to provide a model railway club facility to the people of the Mount Barker district, the Adelaide Hills and the Greater Adelaide area in general.

 

* The District Council of Mount Barker for their ongoing support in providing, at very reasonable rental, the real estate on which our club house stands, and for supporting our recent efforts to connect our clubhouse to the electricity grid.

 

* Microsoft Office Live Small Business for the wonderful web tools and infrastructure provided to us and to other small organisations. This has made it possible for us to present a simple, but satisfyingly professional web presence to to world. Microsoft rocks!

 

* The Adelaide and districts model railway fraternity and public, via the Adelaide Model Railway Exhibition, for their ongoing support of our efforts to provide good quality second hand goods, and a market for same, at our second-hand stall each year at the AMRE exhibition on the June long weekend.

Our club is situated in the Mount Barker area of the beautiful Adelaide Hills in South Australia.

Meetings are held every second Sunday afternoon.

 

Visitors and new members are always welcome. Please feel free to drop in after 1:30pm on meeting days.

Our HO scale layout follows Australian prototype with the focus on South Australian, Commonwealth and Australian National Railways, but our members model many diverse prototypes and scales. Other prototypes and scales are always welcome (and attract only minor ribbing and leg-pulling from the gallery)!

 

We have recently installed Digital Command Control (DCC) on the layout, and are currently upgrading our scenery and buildings.

Please note that this website is a work in progress! We strive to maintain it regularly and often. There is still much to do to develop it into an anywhere-near-complete resource.
